The U-M Library offers open workshops (on specific tools and basic principles), in-course instruction, individual consultations and help finding appropriate data sets. Advanced hardware and software configurations for data visualizations are located in the Shapiro Library and the Duderstadt Center.

Deep Blue, the university's permanent, safe and accessible service for representing the rich intellectual community, provides access to the work that makes U-M a leader in research, teaching and creativity. Deep Blue Data is a repository offered by the U-M Library that provides access and preservation services for digital research data that were developed or used in the support of research activities at U-M.

The Library Copyright Office provides information to help students, faculty and staff make decisions about sharing and using copyrighted material in their research, learning and teaching.

Michigan Publishing publishes scholarly and educational materials in a range of formats for wide dissemination and permanent preservation; provides publishing services to the U-M community and beyond; and advocates for the broadest possible access to scholarship everywhere.

Under U-M Tech Transfer policy and the terms of most funding agreements, researchers have an obligation to promptly disclose research tools to U-M Tech Transfer.

Research tools disclosed to U-M Tech Transfer will be added into the Research Tool Portfolio and a dissemination strategy will be further discussed.

The Sweetland Center for Writing, a comprehensive writing center, exists to support student writing at all levels and in all forms and modes. To accomplish this mission, Sweetland oversees the College of LSA’s First-Year and Upper-Level writing requirements, offers one-to-one tutoring for undergraduate and graduate students in our faculty-led Writing Workshop and undergraduate Peer Writing Center, and teaches writing courses from the 100 to the graduate level.

Michigan News promotes research, major events, expertise and programs to enhance the university's reputation around the world. The office uses multiple methods and platforms for storytelling, including news release distribution, social media engagement and multimedia production. Michigan News also offers media training for faculty to help prepare for interviews and media events.

The University Record is the official source for faculty-staff news at U-M. The publication, in print and online, accepts articles of interest to U-M faculty, staff and retirees from units across the Ann Arbor campus, the Health System and from the Flint and Dearborn regional campuses.
